The Crouch End project was set up by Independent retailers in the N8 area of North London. Their aim is to improve the shopping experience for residents of Crouch End in the hope that there will be less need to get into a car and drive to other parts of London to shop.

The project created a cotton shopping bag which all members of the project actively market, not just to promote the project but to reduce the use of plastic bag for environmental reason. Part of the proceeds for the bag goes to support pennies for plastic project.
