A “green racing car” powered by chocolate and steered by carrots will line up on a Formula 3 grid for the first time next month.
The British-designed car will make its competitive debut at Brands Hatch on October 17, with its creators confident that it will be able to hold its own against conventional racing cars.
“It’s the first car of its kind — it’s built from waste materials but it has the same performance as a Formula 3 racing car,” said its designer, Kerry Kirwan, of the University of Warwick. “We believe that, for its class, it is the greenest car there is.
